Rev. Roy Everett Bonner Retired United Methodist Minister

Memorial Services will be held Saturday, March 27, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, in the Zero Community burial will be in Spring Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery located on Zero Road. The Rev. Kenneth McGill and Rev. Jack Giles officiating.
Visitation will be Friday, March 26, 2010 from 57 at James F. Webb Funeral Home. Body to lie in state one hour prior to service at church.

He is a veteran of World War II, who served with the U.S. Army in Germany. He was a member of the MS Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church, and a graduate of the Emory University, Candler School of Theology, Course of Study. He served the following United Methodist Churches in the Meridian District: Suqualena, Lost Gap, Spring Hill, Pleasant Hill and Hawkins Memorial. He served the Lord by preaching the gospel. He ran a good race, he fought a good fight, he finished the course that was set before him with integrity, and now rejoices with His Lord and his loved ones in heaven.

He is survived by his wife Margaret Linton Shepherd Bonner, one son Russell and his wife Jessie Bonner of Meridian and one daughter Bonnie Porter and her husband Gary of Mobile, Alabama, one brother Raymond Bonner of New Orleans, Louisiana, three grandsons Jim Porter, of Destin Florida, John and his wife Beth Porter of Mobile, Alabama, and David Bonner of Meridian, MS great grand children Russell Porter, Hannah Porter, Brett Bonner, Cody Bonner and Hayden Bonner.

Other survivors include step children Jim and his wife Joy Shepherd of Meridian, MS, Tommy and his wife Pam Shepherd of Tylertown, MS, Rena and her husband Mark Conerly of Tylertown, MS step grandchildren Mr. Mrs. Clay Huckabay, Mr. Mrs. Rusty Shepherd, Mr. and Mrs. Steven Smith, Lee Shepherd, Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Shepherd, Catherine Shepherd, Mr. and Mrs. Michael Leggett, Mr. and Mrs. John Melton and Mr. and Mrs. Buddy Conerly, several great grandchildren Sisters inlaw Dorothy Bonner of Meridian, Beulah Bonner of New Mexico, Mrs. Ruth Watkins of Jackson, MS, Mrs. Mae Bonner of Meridian, MS and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Berry and Claudine Bonner, his wives Lorene Linton Bonner and Virgie Gibson Bonner, brothers Berry B. Bonner, Jr. G. W. Bonner, Rudolph Bonner, Kenneth Bonner, David M. Bonner, Sisters Laverene Jones, Margaret West, Francis Bonner and Lynn Bonner.

Pall Bearers will be Gary Porter, Jim Porter, John Porter, David Bonner, Brett Bonner, Jim Shepherd, Mark Conerly, Phillip Bonner and Kenneth Bonner, JR., honorary pall bearers will be Tommy Shepherd, Jacob Shepherd, Buddy Conerly, Rusty Shepherd, and Lee Shepherd.
