Russell Marion Emerick, a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, passed away November 6, 2023, at the age of 70, peacefully surrounded by family at his home.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 10, 2023, 1:00 pm at Webb & Stephens Funeral Home–North with Bro. Gary Morris Officiating.

Russell was born to James Frank Richardson and Ruby Faye (Camp) Emerick on April 5, 1953, in Portland, Oregon. Russell served his country as a Staff Seargent in the Marine Corps where he was awarded many commendations which included The National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and The Meritorious Mast just to name a few. He loved this country and genuinely believed that there was nothing better than being part of the United States Marine Corps. He was always faithful and always loyal whether it was work, family, or friends. He was a true Semper Fi. After the military, he pursued multiple occupations throughout his years, which led to his retirement as a truck driver with Magnolia Steel in Meridian, MS.

Russell is survived by his daughters, Kristi Michelle (Van) Williams of Hattiesburg, MS and Kimberly Faye Shannon of Baton Rouge, LA; sisters, Marla Emerick (John) Duncan, Cynthia Emerick (Roy) Griffin, Amy Richardson (Roger) Mabry; brothers Bradley Jay (Hearthy) Emerick, and Paul Marion (Carol) Richardson; his grandchildren, Zachary, Michael, Chris, and Mercedes; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and great grandchildren.

My dad was loved by so many. The memories are everlasting, and the stories will be forever remembered. He always loved my mom, the late Vondell (McCollum) Emerick. Russ will always be loved and remembered by his family; Murvis and Janice McCollum, Donald and Dianne McCollum, Tim and Judy Pearson, and Teresha and the late Robert Moore.

Russell is preceded in death by his mother, Ruby Faye (Camp) Emerick; father, James Frank Richardson; brothers James Michael Emerick and Frank Gary Emerick.
