Sacia Mccleskey

Sacia Elizabeth Kazar McCleskey, 85 passed away Wednesday, March 17, 2021. Sacia was born January 6, 1936 to Dr Jay Justin Kazar and Retha Claudia Kitchens Kazar in Tchula, MS.

Having graduated from high school after completing 11th grade she went on to attend University of Southern Mississippi where she was a member of Chi Omega Sorority, Dixie Darlings dance team and the synchronized swim team. After marrying her high school sweetheart, in June 1954 she transferred to Delta State where Jerry was attending on a football scholarship. She graduated with a degree in physical education and went on to teach at Northwest Junior High, Lamar and eventually Magnolia Middle School before retiring.

Sacia is survived by her children Diane Slay (Bill) of Meridian, Mitch McCleskey (Susan) of Marietta, GA, Letitia Johnson (Doug) of Prattville, AL, Tonja aka JJ Hughes (John) of Conifer, CO; 7 grandchildren, Jami Slay, Andrew McCleskey, Taylor McCleskey, Shae Waddell, Crystal Myers, Jack Hughes, and Josh Hughes; 8 great grandchildren and many other loving nieces, and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband Jerry, parents and sisters: Evelyn Durham, Marion Bruce, Angele’ McClure and Jacqueline LeBlanc.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, April 3, 2021 at 11:00 am at James F Webb Funeral Home with Jack Kern officiating. Visitation to begin at 10:00 am.
