Sara E. Jean Knight

Funeral services for Mrs. Jean Knight will be held on Saturday, December 13th, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at United Methodist Church of Scooba with Rev. Jamie Bailey and Mrs. Cheryl Sparkman officiating. Visitation will be held Saturday, 10 until service time, at the church. Interment will be held in Cedarlawn Cemetery in Scooba.

Mrs. Knight, of Scooba, passed away on December 11th, 2014 at Anderson Regional Medical Center. In her earlier years she owned and operated Jeans Beauty Shop in Scooba, she worked for the Selective Service Office, and for Merchant and Farmer Bank of Macon. In the later years she owned and operated Kirks Grocery in Scooba. She was also the pianist for the United Methodist Church of Scooba, which she played from age 11 until her late 80s. She was devoted to her family, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and mother in law. She was an avid Atlanta Braves fan and a University of Alabama fan Roll Tide.

Survivors include her Son, William Kirk Knight, Jr. Fran of Livingston, AL Daughter, Deborah Lou Knight of Slidell, LA Grandchildren, William K. Knight III, Dr. Rusty A. Knight Jill, Sara Ashley Knight Howard Justin Great Grandchildren, Hailey Knight, Logan Knight, Summer Knight, Autumn Knight, Blaze Howard, Storm Howard, and Skyye Howard Special Friend, Lisa Paul One Sister, Robbye Faye Briggs Brother, Jimmy Aust Barbara and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 73 years, William Kirk Knight Sr. Parents, John Edward and Catherine Aust Brother, Jack Aust Jr. and Sister, Mamie Lou Kalfus.

Pallbearers will be Will KK Knight, Dr. Rusty Knight, Justin Howard, Bill Briggs, Greg Briggs and Victor Kalfus III.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jack Kalfus, Jackie Marshal Aust, Keith Palmer, Danny Cherry, Eddie Briggs, Eddie Al Sparkman, and Ken Aust.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the United Methodist Church of Scooba or Cedar Lawn Cemetery.
