Sarah Reece Howell Smith

Sarah A. Reece Howell Smith passed away in the home of her daughter on February 24, 2023, in Meridian, Mississippi. A Graveside Service will be held at Hays Cemetery in Causeyville, MS., Saturday, March 4, 2023, at 1:00 pm. Brother James D. Reece will be officiating. Webb & Stephens Downtown has been entrusted with her care.

Sarah was a Baptist and belonged to Bethany Baptist Church of Whynot, MS. She was the only child of Alice P. Edwards and Earl L. Reece and granddaughter of JF Parnell of Whynot, MS and TJ Reece of Causeyville, MS. She also had two aunts, Ellen C. Smith and Dottie C. Wloyche of Mt. Pleasant, NC.

Mrs. Smith had three children Mary A. Howell Kinard, Otis L. Howell and Michael W. Howell, all of Meridian. Her grandchildren are William George Sumrall, Jo Alice Sumrall, Andrea Downing, Sarah Leslie Howell and a great grandchild Kelsey D. Sumrall.
