Shirley Mae Bryan

Services for Shirley Mae Bryan will be held Thursday, July 11, 2024, 10:30 a.m., at Hudson Chapel Church of God with Rev. Michael Harper officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Webb & Stephens Funeral Home-Union is honored to be entrusted with arrangements.

Ms. Bryan, 79, of Union, passed away Saturday, July 6, 2024, in Carthage, MS.

Shirley was a lifelong resident of Union, MS where she was a member of Hudson Chapel Church of God. She served as an inspector for the USDA for 40 plus years before she retired. After retirement, her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She also had a love for animals, especially her dogs. She will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother and will be missed by many.

She is survived by her children, Shelia Withers (Benny), Teresa Odom (Frank), and Cindy Dickerson (Billy); grandchildren, Stevie Odom, John Bryan, Tommy Ogletree Jr., Ashleigh Windham, Chasity Ogletree, Melanie Call, Amanda Monk, Lucas Odom, Kassie Call, and Dustin Call; 23 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; siblings, Carolyn Kelly, Lawanda Grantham, Donna Stewart, Donald Averette, Jimmy Averette, and Ricky Averette; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her daughter, Sherry Monk; grandchild, Shannon Ogletree; siblings, Addie Lee McWilliams and Roy Averette; and parents, Louis Denson and Maggie Lee Brown Averette.

Visitation will be held Wednesday evening, July 10, 2024, from 5:00-9:00 p.m. at Webb & Stephens Funeral Home-Union as well as an hour prior to service at the church on Thursday.
