Shirley Hastings

Graveside services for Mrs. Shirley Hastings will be held on Thursday, January 14, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church with Bro. Marcus Fitch and Bro. Jim Rickles officiating.

Mrs. Hastings, 78, passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at Anderson Regional Medical Center.  She will be remembered by her love of God, her family, and her cooking.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Billy Hastings.  Her children, Terri Hastings of Meridian, MS, Jan Lee (Gary) of Alpharetta, Georgia, and Julie Alphin (Wesley) of Meridian, MS.  By her grandchildren, Beau Alphin of Flowood, MS, Shelby Alphin of Meridian, MS, Marissa Lee and Matthew Lee, both of Alpharetta, Georgia, Sara Jilcott and Joseph Jilcott, both of Winston-Salem, North Carolina.  Her sisters, Christine Townsend of Meridian, MS, and Carole DiGiovanni of Atlanta, Georgia.  And by numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Henry Shelby and Nell Wright Shelby; Daughter, Geri Hastings; and granddaughter, Meredith Lee.  Her siblings, Lawrence Shelby, Betty Guszack, Helen Reed, and Peggy Ann Shelby.
