Mrs. Sue Zink Carney

Graveside Services will be held on Monday, April 7, 2008 at Magnolia Cemetery at 11:30 A.M. with Rev. Greg Proctor and Rev. Walton Jones officiating. James F. Webb Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Carney, formerly of Meridian, died just after midnight in Murfreesboro, Tennesse on April 2, 2008. She was born in Jacksonville, Florida to Karl M. and Hazel Lantz Zink. She married Ben Carney and was a lifelong resident of Meridian. She was dedicated to the arts of Meridian. She worked long and hard to improve the qualityof at in her community.. She wrote an article All About Town , for The Meridian Star. It gave a regular update of social and cultural events in Meridian. Nonnie, as she was affectionately known, was a dedicated mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

She is survived by her daughters: Susan Carney Hays and husband, Pete of Jackson, MS and Mirian Carney Garrett of Murfreesboro, TN. Grandchildren: Pete Hays IV and wife Suzy of Jackson; Ashley Hays Hage and husband, Micheal of Gulfport, MS; Dr. Peyton Lantza Hays of Worcester, MA; James Christopher Johnson and wife Sarah; Heather Leigh Garrett and Justin Caleb Garrett all of Murfreesboro, TN. Great Grandchildren: Sydney Claire Hays, Sophie Parker Hays, Michael Hage, Jr., Anderson Peyton Hage, Shelly Johnson and Cameron Seth Johnson.

There is no visitation scheduled for Mrs. Carney.
