Valerie Smith

Funeral services for Mrs. Valerie N. Smith will be held Thursday, January 3, 2019 at 1pm at Barham Funeral Home - Forest Lawn Chapel with interment in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Rev. Jim Gordon will be officiating with Barham Funeral Home - Forest Lawn Chapel in charge of her arrangements.

Mrs. Smith, 84, passed away Sunday, December 30, 2018.

Mrs. Smith was a seamstress by trade and a member of Cathedral Assembly of God. She loved to make jellies and can pickles, but most of all she enjoyed sharing her homemade goods with family and friends. She would not allow you to leave her house empty handed.
Mrs. Smith is survived by her daughters Rebecca Gunter (Larry) and Charlotte Bayse; Sisters - Inez Rhodes, Janice Guin (J.L.), Imelda Powell (Dennis): Brother - James Neal (Janie): Grandsons - Nicholas Gunter and Christopher Gunter: a Brother-in-law - John F. Smith Jr. and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents William Edward and Gladys Neal; husband William O. Smith and sisters Ruby Moore and Delores Southern.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cathedral Assembly of God or your favorite charity.
