Services for Virginia W. McArthur will be held Thursday at 11 am at Trinity Presbyterian Church with Rev. Mark Flynn officiating. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery with James F. Webb Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. McArthur, 91, of Meridian, died Thursday, August 11, 2011 at Infinity Hospice in Marion. She worked as a registered nurse in Meridian for many years. She began as a Red Cross nurse, then with the Army Nurse Corps serving in World War II on a hospital ship. She finished her Army service in New Orleans. She loved to dance and enjoyed playing bridge. She was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by her daughters, Sheryl Craft, Amelia Broussard, and Betsy Renfroe grandchildren, David Craft, Kim Craft Winters, Christopher Renfroe, and James Kenneth Renfroe III 5 great grandchildren sister, Betsy Ruckert sister in law, Becky Hesse and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Hatford and Wilma Herchenroether her husband, Edwin Ross McArthur, Jr. and a brother, Raymond Herchenroether.

Pallbearers will be Christopher Renfroe, James Kenneth Renfroe III, Robert Broussard, and Lt. Brian Winters.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 69 pm at the funeral home, and Thursday one prior to services at the church.
