Walter Sturm

Graveside services for Walter Lee Sturm will be held Sunday, August 19, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. David Watson will officiate, with Stephens Funeral Home handling the arrangements.

Mr. Sturm, age 98, of Meridian, passed away August 17 at Rush Foundation Hospital.

Walter was a veteran of the United States Army Air Corp and the National Guard. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.

Walter is survived by his children, Buddy Sturm and his wife, Delores, Tevon Sturm and his wife, Brenda, and Mitch Sturm and his wife, Debbie; ten grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-five years, Evelyn Russell Sturm; daughter, Leona Larkin, granddaughter, Laura Ellis, and great-grandson, Micheal Douglas Ellis; siblings, Alfred Sturm, Lorraine Sturm, Lela Sturm, Elizabeth Sturm Finley.

Pallbearers will be Bryan Sturm, Jacob Dean, James Margrave, Gavin Thrash, Alex Sturm, Zain Alexandra and Zebulon Stroud.
