Walter Taylor

April 21, 1933 — January 27, 2019

Mr. Walter "Bert" Taylor passed away January 27th at Rush Foundation Hospital.
Mr. Taylor served his country in the U.S. Air Force as an aircraft mechanic and attained the rank of Master Sergeant. Serving twenty-one years, he served in both the Korean and Vietnam wars before retiring in 1974. He then taught middle school shop class for nine years in Columbus, GA before retiring again, returning to his home in Meridian.
Mr. Taylor is survived by his children Paul Taylor and Sandra Andrade, both of Gulfport, MS, George Taylor and Terry Taylor, both of Meridian, Charity James of Shubuta and David Taylor of Columbus, GA; sisters Nancy Kivett of Dorsey, Illinois, Sharon Short and Anita Huber of Elsa, Illinois; thirteen grandchildren and twenty-four great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents Earl and Ida Taylor; first wife Clara Edna Taylor; second wife Merle Taylor; third wife Mary Taylor and brother Merritt E. Taylor.
Visitation will be held Friday from 5pm to 7pm at Barham Funeral Home, Forest Lawn Chapel.
A private family graveside service will be held the following day.
