Funeral services for Mr. Walter Matthew Tucker, Jr. will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012, at Webb Funeral Home Chapel. James F. Webb Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Tucker, age 85, of Meridian, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, at his home. He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving during World War II and was a member of Midway Baptist Church. In his younger days he enjoyed hunting and fishing with his sons. In his later years he enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Marie Boler Tucker his daughter, Zelda Tucker Smith and her husband Wayne his sons, Walter Matthew Tucker, III, and Jeffrey Clinton Tuck Tucker his grandchildren, Walter Matthew Tucker, IV Michael W. Smith and his wife Katey Sondra Johnson and her husband Kevin his great grandchild, Jessica Smith his brother, Leon Tucker and his sister, Martha Tucker Skipper. Mr. Tucker is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and good friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Walter Matthew Tucker, Sr. his mother, Etta Vines Tucker brothers, Roy Bill Tucker and Clyde Tucker sisters, Clara Tucker Luke Alma Tucker Martin and Bessie Kate Tucker.
The family would like to thank Lindsey Alexander, Tess Turner, and Jennifer Embrey, the wonderful nurses that cared for him.
Visitation will be held on Monday, Nov. 12, 2012, at Webb Funeral Home from 57 p.m.
Burial will be at Linwood Baptist Church Cemetery in the Linwood Community in Neshoba County.
