Mr. W.B. Jack Jackson

Mr. W.B. Jackson Jr. of Meridian entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday, July 2, 2010. While holding fast to his faith during many years of suffering physical infirmities, he has been set free from the limitaitions of his earthly vessel. He was 81.

He is survived by his loving and faithful wife of 51 years, Maureen his two adoring daughters, Amy Louise Jackson and Carol Anne Jackson Pryor, his faithful son in law, Richard Paul Pryor, and his beloved granddaughter, Sarah Anne Elizabeth Pryor. He is also survived by his faithful and loving extended family sister and brother in law, Otis and Sonny Tolbert of Brandon sister and brother in law, Wilma and Paul Snow of Stallo brother, J.B. Jackson of Louisville nieces and nephews cousins including Marion Chiles of Knoxville, TN and friends, including Phyllis Hudson of New Orleans, LA.

He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Craig Alan parents, William Benjamin and Nannie Louise sister Eunice Young and Sarah Vowell and brothers: B.P. and C.B. Jackson.

Mr. Jackson exemplified being a Christian husband, father, grandfather and friend. He loved his country, having served in the United States Armys 24th Infantry Division during the Korean Conflict, and fervently desired that America would always be the land of the free and home of the brave. Throughout his life, he sacrifically gave to others, and remained the strong and steadfast leader of his family, serving and guiding them with Godly wisdom and unconditional love through the day of his death.

A man of the most humble beginnings, he was a long time barber, prior to owning and operating Jacksons Furniture Company for 35 years. A man of uncommon talen, knowledge, and skill, he greatly appreciated the beauty in art, poetry, music, space, and nature, especially flowers. After faithfully loving and serving his God, family, and country, he entered into his eternal rest and joy in Heaven, haveing been a good and faithful servant of his Lord.

Services were held on Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at 11 AM at the First Baptist Church of Meridian with visitation from 9:00 until service time in the Welcome Center of the church. And visitation was on Tuesday, July 6th, from 5 8 pm at James F. Webb Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Dr. Harry Causey, Marion Chiles, Mack Emmons, Dr. Gaines Harrell, LtCol. Jim Herrera USMC, Richard Pryor, Charles Roberts and Sonny Tolbert.
