Graveside services for William “B.J.” James Brooks will be held Monday, December 2, 2024, 1:00 p.m. at Brooks Camp in Macon, MS (across the road from 895 Soule Chapel Road) with Bro. Mike Vick officiating. Webb & Stephens Funeral Homes are honored to be entrusted with arrangements.
Mr. Brooks, 44, of DeKalb, passed away at Ochsner Rush Hospital in Meridian on November 28, 2024.
B.J. was an avid hunter, particularly deer and turkey, and spent many days making memories with his family. He was also very dedicated to his job as an environmental consult manager for the pipeline, taking pride in his work. He was known to be giving and kindhearted and would do anything to help his fellow man. However, his greatest love was his family, especially his wife and his girls.
He is survived by his wife, Christy Hollingsworth; daughters, Abby Rose (Dylan Fulton) and Cailea Johnson (Ethan Cordar); sister, Tammy Stevens (Rocky); brother, Tony Miller (Londa); nephews, Logan Miller and Kayden Stevens; niece, Brenley Stevens; special friend, Will Withers, who he thought of as a son; and many other friends and family that he loved dearly.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Brenda and Billy Brooks; maternal grandparents, J.D. and Evelyn Miller; and paternal grandparents, James and Carolyn Karnes.
Pallbearers will include Robert Oswalt, Matt Gallaspy, Billy Chisolm, Harlen Ivy, Max Stevens, Will Withers, Marshall Brown, and Chris Brown.
Visitation will be held Sunday, December 1, 2024, 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Webb & Stephens Funeral Home-North.
