William James "Jamsie" Joiner

Services for William James “Jamsie” Joiner will be held Sunday, April 14, 2024, 1:00 p.m. at Old Kewanee Church (formerly Lauderdale Presbyterian Church) with Bro. Lester Ray Hopkins officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Webb & Stephens Funeral Home-North is honored to be entrusted with arrangements.

Mr. Joiner, 50, of Toomsuba, passed away Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at UAB Hospital in Birmingham, AL.

Jamsie served as the Assistant Chief for Toomsuba-Alamucha Volunteer Fire Department for over 20 years. He also served on the Russell Volunteer Fire Department. He was a great friend, helping those in need and expecting nothing in return. He was a devoted husband and loving father, however, his biggest joy was being a grandfather. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Cindy Joiner; children, Jamie Armes (James), Christa Joiner (Terry Jenson Jr.), and Ezekiel James Joiner (Emily); grandchildren, James Michael Armes Jr., Elizabeth “Lizzy” McCook, Ariel Armes, Gabriel Armes, Addison Joiner, and two on the way, Alyice Joiner and Baby Jenson; siblings, Renee Smith (Dale), Leonard Joiner (Mary), Kym Barfield (Jim), Jody Joiner (June), and Becky Parker (Dennis); and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Leonard Wayne Joiner Sr. and Gary Anne White Joiner; two unborn grandchildren; and in-laws, Roy and Sherrie Carroll.
