Mr. William Kirk Knight Sr.

Services for Mr. William Kirk Knight Sr. will be held Friday, March 5, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Scooba United Methodist Church with the Rev. David Smith and Rev. Jamie Bailey officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Cemetery. James F. Webb Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Knight, 92, passed away on Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at his home in Scooba, MS, he was a Staff Sergeant in the United States Army and a veteran of WWII. During his service he was a prisoner of war P.O.W. of the Germans. Mr. Knight was a long time butcher around the Dekalb area and owned Kirks Grocery in Scooba, and he retired from that profession.

He is survived by his loving wife of 73 years, Mrs. Jean Knight of Scooba, MS One daughter, Debbie Knight of Slidell, LA One son, Kirk Knight Jr. and his wife Fran of Livingston, AL Three Grandchildren, William Kirk Knight III, Dr. Rusty Knight and his wife Jill, and Ashley Knight Four Great Grandchildren, Hailey Knight, Logan Knight, Summer Knight, and Autumn Knight. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and a special caregiver, Mary Koehn.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Lillian and James Knight and one sister, Beatrice Smith.

Pallbearers will be Will Knight, Rusty Knight, Bill Briggs, Greg Briggs, Vicky Kalfus, Jack Kalfus, Jackie Aust, and Keith Palmer.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Gene Watt, Eddie Sparkman, Dan Meacham.

Visitation will be Friday, March 5, 2010 from 10:00 a.m until service time at Scooby United Methodist Church.
