Willie M. Monk Beddingfield Postal worker Services for Willie M. Monk Beddingfield will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2007 at James F. Webb Funeral Home Chapel at 10 a.m. Burial will be at Magnolia Cemetery with James F. Webb Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mr. Beddingfield, 78, died Friday, Nov. 16, 2007. Survivors include three sons, Keith Beddingfield, of Chattanooga, TN, Dale Beddingfield, of Knoxville, TN, and Craig Beddingfield, of McKinney, Texas, two brothers, Jesse Beddingfield and Mike Beddingfield, both of Meridian, one sister, Thelma Roberts, of Meridian, seven grandchildren, a great-grandchild, and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Beddingfield was born in Meridian in 1929 and lived and worked here for virtually his entire life. Following service to his country in the early 50s, Monk and his bride, Norma Jean, raised a family of three sons and became active members of State Boulevard Baptist Church. He remained a member of the church for over 50 years, serving in several capacities, most recently as usher at Sunday morning services. He was employed for over 30 years with the Meridian Post Office, but was also a skilled carpenter, developing a solid reputation for quality work among many Meridianites. Visitation will be today at James F. Webb Funeral Home from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. BR
