Mr. Willie Claude Cooper
Graveside services for Mr. Willie Claude Cooper will be held at 2:30 pm Sunday, May 27, 2012 at Mount Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Clarke County with Rev. Marcus Finch officiating. James F. Webb Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Cooper, 90, passed away on Thursday, May 24, 2012 at his residence. He retired from Sears after 36 years, then enjoyed many years playing golf at Lakeview Golf Course. He served in World War II in the United States Army and was a past Commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars VFW Post 79 in Meridian.
He is survived by Two Daughters, Virginia Ginny Simmons of Hattiesburg, MS and Sheryl Watts and her husband Spike of Meridian, MS Son, Larry Cooper and his wife Lisa of Baton Rouge, LA Seven 7 Grandchildren, Stephanie Kittrell, Renee Willis, Melissa Feigley, Samantha Mash, Alexa Mash, Bryan Watts Jr. and Jason Watts Six 6 Great Grandchildren Two brothers: Gene Cooper and his wife Lurlene of Butler, AL and Bobby Cooper and his wife Edwina of Meridian, MS, a sister, Vernice Scott.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Mildred Cooper his parents Willie Lee Cooper and Lillie Pearl Cooper sister, Terry Cooper.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 27, 2012 at Webb Funeral Home from 12:30 2pm.
