Willie Thomas

Services for Mrs. Willie S. Thomas will be held Monday, November 12, 2008 at 2:00 pm at James F. Webb Chapel with the Rev. Michael Duff officiating. Burial will be at Meridian Memorial Park. James F. Webb Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Thomas, age 97, formerly of Meridian, died Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at the Pioneer Community Hospital in Aberdeen, MS. She was a faithful and loved member of Eighth Avenue Baptist Church for many years. She was known to have a heart of gold and a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved reading and sewing.

She was survived by her son, Charles Lee Thomas and wife Estelle of Meridian, MS; three daughters: Mildred Townsend of Tuscaloosa, AL; Mazle Palmer of Gulfport, MS; Betty Strickland and her husband, John of Hamilton, MS; twelve grandchildren; twenty-three great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Dawson Lee Beat Up Thomas; parents, Joe and Lula Sellers; and a son, Frank Thomas.'

Pallbearers will be Andrew Young, Tyler Young, Robert Young, Michael Townsend, Christopher Duff, Donnie Dill, Lonnie Thomas, and James Palmer.

Visitation will be Monday, November 10, 2008 from 12:00 to 2:00 pm at the funeral home prior to service.
