Funeral services for Sue Harwell will be held Saturday, November 24, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at Macedonia Baptist Church, visitation from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Bro. Derrick Wilson will officiate and Stephens Funeral Home in Meridian is in charge of the arrangements. Burial will follow in the church cemetery immediately following the service.
Ms. Harwell, age 67, of Suqualena, passed away on Thanksgiving Day surrounded by her family.
Sue was born and raised in Suqualena and was a 1968 graduate of West Lauderdale High School. She worked for ten years at South Central Bell. She will be remembered as a loving daughter, sister, mother and friend.
Sue is survived by her beloved children, Stacy Massey and Tommy Harwell; grandson, Dalton Massey and her faithful grandson, Noah Harwell and his mother, Dana Rolison; sisters, Jean Lackey and Lori Clark and her husband, Ronnie, and her brother, Walter "Buddy" Torrance. She's also survived by her niece, Kayla Booker and her husband, Allen Woodard, her friend and caregiver, Pat Nause, as well as numerous other extended family members. The family would like to thank the staff of James T. Champion Nursing Facility, Azalea Hall, for the loving and compassionate care they provided to Sue and her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, WS Torrance and Marjorie McCary Harrell.
Pallbearers will be Gary Riley, Keith McCary, Mike McCary, Ronnie Clark, Larry Torrance and David McCary.
