Zona Eldred Craven Robinson passed away peacefully on April 28, 2018, in Ridgeland, Mississippi. She went to be with her Lord and Savior after a wonderful life of 95 years.
Zona is survived by her daughter, Brenda Parmelee of Brandon, Mississippi. She is also survived by three granddaughters, Carla Gray of Meridian, Mississippi; Dana Gray Hoyle of Euless, Texas; and Brenda Lee Parmelee Phillips and her husband Mark Phillips of Montclair, Virginia. Zona also was the proud matriarch of a family that includes 7 great grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, H. Thomas "H.T." Craven and Mary Bell McCaskill Craven of Lauderdale County, Mississippi; her husband of 70 years, Willie Edward "Bill" Robinson; and her daughter, Mona Robinson Gray. The family would like to thank Olivia Burnham for her friendship and dedication to Zona and Brenda over the last few years.
Zona was born on September 26, 1922 in Lauderdale County. She was a career hair stylist in Meridian for many years, was a long-time member of Oakland Heights Baptist Church, and enjoyed a wonderful group of friends. She lived in Meridian until she moved to Brandon to be closer to her daughter. She will be greatly missed by all of her family.
A funeral is scheduled for May 4, 2018 at Webb Funeral Home. The viewing will be held at 1:00 p.m., a memorial service will follow at 2:30, and burial at Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Diabetes Foundation of Mississippi would be appreciated.
